Where is the rally and meeting?

The rally is on the east end of the National Mall in front of the Capitol Building, between 4th St. SW and 3rd St. SW. Here is a map with the precise location.

The meeting after the rally is at the St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 222 M St SW, Washington, D.C. It is approximately one mile south from the rally location.

When should I arrive? How long will the events last?

The rally begins at 1:00 p.m. and concludes around 2:15 p.m. The post-rally meeting begins at 3:00 p.m. and will conclude around 6:00 p.m.

Members of the Socialist Equality Party will be at the rally location beforehand. Come to the rally location early so that we can begin on time and you can help promote the rally and the meeting.

How do I get there?

There are many public transportation options to the Capitol Hill area, and there is also parking within walking distance if you arrive by car. Details on public transportation options can be found at the following website: capitolhillbid.org/explore/getting-around

Metro stations: To avoid the traffic near the Mall, you can also park at a Metro stop and take public transit to the Mall. This tool is a good source to gauge which station has available parking at any given time: https://www.wmata.com/service/parking/

Where can I park?

There are many parking lots in the area, within walking distance (map). The nearest public parking is at Union Station, which is about a 15-minute walk to the protest location. For more information visit: unionstationdc.com/parking. There is also street parking, but this may be limited on that day, and some streets will be closed off.

Street parking is available at the post-rally meeting location.

Will there be security?

The Socialist Equality Party and World Socialist Web Site take the security of all participants in the rally and meeting seriously. At the rally, there will be marshals to make sure the event remains orderly. They will be wearing yellow vests. Any questions or concerns can be directed to the marshals.

What are your COVID policies?

There is presently a significant summer surge of infections from COVID-19. To protect all participants, masks will be required at the post-rally meeting. Masks will be available if you don’t have one. We encourage those taking part in the rally to wear masks when in crowded areas, since the virus which causes COVID is airborne and still can be transmitted in an outdoor setting.

Will the rally be livestreamed?

We will not be livestreaming the rally or meeting, but video will be posted on the WSWS and on social media soon after the events conclude.

How can I support the rally if I can’t come?

If you can’t attend the rally and meeting, you can still help by making a large donation to make it as successful as possible.
